A positive shift has been happening within the fashion industry as of late. We’re seeing industries across the globe take a vow to make stronger commitments towards ethical and sustainable practices. Fashion brands and consumers alike are making an increased effort to support animal-friendly, conscious clothing, and on the back of Veganuary this Jan awaits Vegan's true fashion debut: Vegan Fashion Week.
The first of its kind, Vegan Fashion Week will take place in Los Angeles this February. The four-day event will showcase collections from a lineup of conscious designers who use only ethically sourced, cruelty-free and vegan materials. It's by invitation only, where hand-picked guests will be able to exclusively view the collections and gain access to ‘The Vegan Lounge’, a showcase of vegan food and beauty alternatives.
The event aims to elevate ethical fashion and axe animal exploitation whilst educating consumers on the negative impacts of animal-derived clothing. This year’s theme, “Facing Our Time,” will address animal rights, human morality and the fashion-meets-activism movement.
With a passion and drive to create a better world for animals, the event's founder and animal-rights activist, Emmanuelle Riend, is establishing a platform where ethical fashion can be celebrated and encouraged. The no doubt, trending event is set to make waves across the clothing industry, pioneering the future of fashion.
VFW will be held at the California Market Center in Los Angeles from February 1 to 4, 2019. To learn more, visit veganfashionweek.org.
